Long Holidays Make Up Bag

Although I'm technically travelling, I not really as such that my beauty products have to be extremely limited because of flying restrictions or what ever, however I do need be a little sparing because I will have to fit it in the bag. Tragic.

We sail from southampton for my cruise and I live here so it's less of a problem on the volume of things I take with me, so keep that in mind because this may seem like a lot of product, What can I say make up is an addiction. With this in mind here are the things I'm going to be taking with me and using over my 2 weeks away!

On holiday in general I only really wear a lot of make up in the evening time and it should be pretty warm, lets hope, so I'll keep it quite light on my skin. But then there are more formal evenings where I'll want more coverage, and a girls gotta have choice, am I right ladies? I'm also taking a lot of product that just need to be used up and I thought I'd take them and just leave them behind at the end of the trip.

Bag

This little beauty is a ted baker make up bag that I got for christmas last year with a lot of products in, I think from boots, its just the perfect size for my overpacking problem.

Face

L'oreal Paris Infallible Mattifying Base - Pretty decent primer for the price.
Benefit Erase Paste - Really small amount left of this one.
Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation - Been savouring this because it probable only has a few full faces coverages left, and I could't bring myself to buy a new one when I have other foundations to use.
Bare Minerals Powder Foundation & Mineral Veil - Old friends that never fail me.
Collection Sheer Loose Powder - Perfect for super oily days.

Cheeks and Contour

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Pallet - Pretty sure the shade I have is Naked but it doesn't say on the packaging, and I only really have the blusher left in there and a bit of the highlighter.
Nars Blush in Orgasm - Beautiful for summer with golden shine to a rosie pink.
Benefit Hola Bronzer - I only have a sample size at the moment but I had a full size before, great bronzer.
Benefit High Beam - Sample size as well.

Eye Shadow

Urban Decay Primer Potion - Can't have eyeshadow without it really, a must.
Urban Decay Naked Pallet - Classic but perfect for every occasion.
Urban Decay Naked 2 Pallet - I like shades from both pallets so both are coming along.
Mac Eye Shadows in Stars'n'Rockets & Freshwater - Incase I want a pop of colour.
Channel Creme Shadow (Illusion D'ombre) in Fantasme - Only comes out on special occasions because of it's super sparkly nature

Eyes

Urban Decay Duel Ended Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero and Demolition - Written about in recent post.
Ted Baker Eye liner - Got in a ted baker gift set and is a great felt tip and needs using up.
Benefit They're Real Push up Liner - Still needs some mastering but long lasting.
Benefit Roller Lash - Written about in recent post.

Brows

Soap and Glory Archery - All I need to tend them brows (plus tweezers), written about in recent post.

Lips

5 lip products, Oops!
Mac Frost Lip Stick in Angel - Not a big fan of this colour but  thats mainly because I prefer dark colours but it gets used when I lighten some darker reds.
Rimmel London Vinyle Gloss - Not sure what shade I think its Take a Chance.
Mac Frost Lip Stick in New York Apple - One of my favourite deep reds, and it has blue undertones for whiter teeth.
Ted Baker Cubby Stick - Got in a ted baker gift set, deep burgundy.
Ted baker Lip stick - Very classic red.

New Products

I have also ordered a few things recently, from urban decay I ordered the Naked Concealer, mainly because I had a 15% off coupon to use at Feel Unique and I have been wanting to try this concealer for a while. And then Benefit has this Kit deal going on that if you buy a 3 products plus a free product (only selected products are in this deal but there is a large selection) you will get it for £66! And a cute free make up bag thrown in! So I chose Hello Flawless Foundation, Watt's Up Highlighter, They're Real Mascara and my free gift was a Creaseless Cream Shadow in oyster pink; all have been on my want to buy list for some time now. But they haven't come yet and hopefully they come before I leave but it's not the end of the world if they don't.

Now looking at it I do have a lot of products! I might eliminate a few before I set sail but as I said there is no restriction really so I'm not too concerned by the quantity. Sorry for the extremely long post!

Whats in your travel make up bag?

Summer Playlist 2015

Music has this crazy power of effecting you in many ways. For summer I want to feel really pumped and in the summery mood, so I've been gathering a playlist of a lot of current songs at the moment so that I can game to them, when I'm getting ready, in the shower, dancing alone in my room, and of course by the pool! Most of these are on the charts and current songs but I love these especially in summer because they go so well with the exciting vibe of being free from school! It's quite a long one because I can get pretty bored of music and need a hefty list to keep me going. I could have added more to be honest!

The Night Is Still Young - Nicki Minaj
Where are U Now - Jack U, Skrillex, Diplo, Justin Bieber
Shut Up and Dance - Walk The moon
Godess - Iggy Azalea
New B**** - Iggy Azalea
Whole of Taylor Swift's 1989 album - but its more difficult to listen to because I use Spotify and she doesn't have her music on there so its really irritating especially if I'm making a playlist
Talking Body - Tove Lo
Trap Queen - Fretty Wrap
Can't Feel My Face - The Weekend - and a lot of there other songs too been loving them at the moment
Be Real - Kid Ink
Body Language - Kid ink
Whole of Years and Years album Communion - Been following them for a while now and finally there is an album!
Bo$$ - Fifth Harmony
Sledge Hammer - Fifth Harmony
Stole The Show - Kygo, Parson James

B**** Better Have My Money - Rihanna
American Oxygen - Rihanna
Poison - Rita Ora
Party In The USA - Miley Cyrus
Whole of Ariana Grande's album My Everything
Black Magic - Little Mix
Rather Be - Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne - Reminds me a lot of last summer and I still love this song
Stronger - Clean Bandit
We Got the World - Icona Pop
Live While We're Young - One Direction
Preach - Drake
No Tellin - Drake
Whole of One Directions album Four - A thing about me I used to be a crazy 1D fan right back when they first started, not as obsessed anymore but their music still lifts up my mood and this album I would say is the best yet
Someone New - Hozier
Young, Wild & Free - Snoop Dog, Wiz Khalifer, Bruno Marz
Chandelier - Sia
Elastic Heart - Sia
Rude - Magic!
Wear Em Out - Kendal K
Star in Your Own Life (Remix)- Nia Sioux - Okay the last two are a little sad because I'm a massive Dance Moms fan and my Mum thinks it's sad but I actually quite like the songs even though they are very cheesy, I'm cheesy anyway (not in the smelly kind. I hope.).
I Will Never Let You Down - Rita Ora - Another one from last summer
Lifted Up (1985) - Passion Pit
Dancing in The Moonlight - Toploader
Let In The Sun - Take That
Get Ready For It - Take That

An Evening in Some Fields

I spent a lovely warm summer evening with 2 friends last week taking some photos, it was a lovely sunset and prime time to get that good lighting. I had on this cute little outfit perfect for the english summer, which can be extremely unpredictable, I have on tights mainly because I couldn't be bothered to shave my legs (it takes a lot of effort am I right ladies?) but as well this pinafore dress can rise up a bit and we don't want any bum flashes now do we! I included at the bottom just the cutest photo of me and one of my best friends hugging I couldn't resist the cuteness!

Striped T-shirt - Next (sale)
Denim Pinafore Dress - Topshop
White shoes - Converse
Rose Gold Watch - Michael Kors

Summer Pastels

Who doesn't love a good pastel nail polish especially in the summer months. They really help bring out a tan, so when I actually get a tan it will be even more worth it!

So I picked up a few nail polish from my favourite Nail brand Essie. I could talk forever naming reasons why I love their products; doesn't chip easily, beautiful colour collection, large applicator...(it goes on and on). But my Absolute favourite thing is that they have in my opinion the best pastel colours to choose from, and so when I was in the market for some new pastel colours for the summer and mainly for my holiday tan, Essie was my first choice.

I could have picked up so many more but I restrained myself seeing as they are at a high end price of £7.99 each! They currently have their Summer Collection 2015 out including a lot of beautiful shades, and three of the four I chose are from this (honestly I could have bought the whole collection).

Peach Side Babe, from the Summer Collection 2015, drew me in first the creamy coral colour just screaming summer so I new I had to get this. Then, Pret-a-surfer is periwinkle blue with a bit of a purple undertone and I thought it would be great with so many different outfits. I actually have been really wanting to paint my nails white for a while as these are the ultimate tan enhancers, and so as I knew Essie do great nail Polish, I got Private Weekend a platinum white from the collection. It has a slight glitter in the bottle but doesn't transfer to the nail. Finally Mint Candy Apple, a famous colour from the brand that I always tried and never actually purchased. The perfect mint colour perfect for a summery day but I also think it has the ability to transfer into other season.

I have a bit of a pastel colours obsession especially when it comes to nails, and now I really want more, I'm going to have to take a few deep breaths and consider my bank balance!

Do you love Essie? What are your favourite pastel colours as nail polish?

What I Learned in My AS Year

This school year has gone so fast it literally feels like a couple weeks ago I was getting my GCSE results and starting sixth form college, before I know it I'll be off to Uni (now that's a scary thought). I've just finished my last few weeks of college after 3 weeks off, which after just lazing around everyday was something I had to ease into. But I think its a great time to reflect and maybe even bring a positive change to my second year. So I though I'd share with you some of what I have learned about myself and what I have learned in general with my work.

YOU Need to Make the Effort

When your at school you don't realise how much the teachers do to make sure you do the work and get your homework done, until you are at college and a lot of teachers will be annoyed if you don't do your homework but its clear that it is your fault if your results is effected. You are aloud to make a change in your own education and are taught to have more self discipline which will help when moving on to university and the working world. This has made me realise that for me personally I respond so much better to a slightly more relaxed approach of teaching; what I mean is being able to get on with my work and then given advice on improving it specific to my personal project. Although because of my perfectionist problem I do need a good check list to tick off and the occasional reminder that there are deadlines and my three pieces of perfect work won't be enough to fill a whole sketch book!

Making Friends is Hard

I moved into sixth form without any of my closest friends from school, they all went to a different college, this was hard. In school I was nervous about going without any of my friends but I was also intrigued and excited to make new friends; I don't know why but I thought it would be easy! From this I've realise how shy I can be when I'm not with people I'm comfortable around and people who know how weird I can be (which is most of the time). Don't forget everyone's in the same boat, everyone wants to make friends and everyone's feeling a bit awkward and shy. I just need to put myself out there more and just be me because I'm bloody brilliant!

I Can Do It

After completing a total of 11 or so projects across this year in my various subjects I can now look back and be so proud of the work I have produced. It's so easy to look around the room at others work or look at things on social media and think you are not good enough or your work isn't as good as someone else's, making you think you can't do it (this goes for academic subjects and comparing grades as well). Looking back now, I realise that it is possible, who cares what others have done all that matters is what you are doing.

The Queen of Procrastination

My time guesses for tasks are alway extremely optimistic and so I think I can get something done in like 20 minutes but realistically it will take me over an hour and then I end up rushing things. I mean when I have loads of time and need to get things done I will even tidy my room to keep from finishing my work! It's a problem and I am really trying to be more self motivated for my second year because it is going to be even harder, so getting everything done quickly will help me to enjoy the experience a lot more.

Leaving it All to the Last Minute

I suppose this is similar to the last point but if there is one this I'm going to try really really hard not to do next year is leave everything to a few weeks or even days before it is due in, especially all the
mounting and annotations. The worst thing about me is I subconsciously know that I will get it done in the end, this is so bad because the panic nearing the deadline forces me to do everything. And what makes it even worse is a lot of my best pieces are done in a panic but then things like presentation and my written work doesn't do so well under pressure.

I'm so excited for A2 and what this school year will bring.
What's coming up soon that you're excited about ?

Current 3 Beauty Favorites

I love trying new products and switching out my make up mainly so I use all of it, but recently I have found myself reaching for these three products pretty much everyday and I can definitely say I'm  in love right now.

This is a new purchase of mine, its of course Benefits Roller Lash mascara. I have to say I love Benefits They're Real mascara but this one has toped it for me, after hearing so many amazing reviews of the product I new I had to try it and my lashes haven't looked better. It holds an amazing curl (and my lashes don't curl at all), it adds length and although not as much volume as They're Real its enough especially for every day use.

Next is this duel ended eyeliner from Urban Decay, including the colours Zero (black) and Demolition (brown). I actually got this in a set for christmas and have slowly tried each of them on different occasions, but I'm just not an eyeliner person I have the wrong shaped eyes to pull it off. However the reason I've loved this so much recently is because I am obsessed with lining my tight line (under neath your lashes) I notice such a difference in the definition around my eyes and I think it makes your mascara have a lot more volume at the root. I will mostly use Zero but the brown is great on the days I don't wear very much make up, and I found it's pretty good at not smudging which is a break through for me because I swear my eyes are small puddles who's aim is to make me have panda eyes.

And then I have a brow pencil/felt pen, Archery by Soap and Glory. OH MY GOD I'm in eyebrow heaven. I'm not an eyebrow person, I don't obsess over them even though they really annoy me when they look completely different (don't we all have this problem?) and I used to fill them in but they never looked brilliant. The felt tipped end helps shape them really well and then the crayon part  bulks them up where it's a bit sparse. This product had me wanting to do my eyebrows all the time and obsess a little over them, which I am not sure is a good thing or not, but it just works so well that I have no idea what I did without it.

Do you have any current favourites?

Hello!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Well hello people of the internet my name is Sophie Blair and welcome to my blog!

There are so many things about me to learn most of the smaller exciting things you will pick up on the way but for now I'll share some general thing about me to get you started. I'm from Southampton, lived here all of my life, 17 years old and l live with my Mum, Dad, Brother and my 2 cats Bella and Titch. So I have just completed my first year of sixth form college and so I am awaiting my results of my As Levels! This year I studied all art subjects and if you take an art A level then you will know how demanding they are and so I am a bit of a crazy person, I took Fine Art, Graphics, Textiles and Photography. And all I hope will send me to a career in Costume design. However this year I've swapped out graphics for sculpture which will be a new and exciting way of working. I've been reading blogs for so long and really wanted to become a part of the community and I feel like I have a lot that I can offer!

There are so many things I wanna share with you, dissucssing fashion, beauty, my art projects, lifestyle posts and so much more. Of course I want to make sure I don't talk about everything and anything but really it will be just everything I love, so it's kind of a mystery what you might get.

See you soon
Sophie
